Bicentenaire 1955

Prior to the commemorative events staged in 2005, the most elaborate effort to remember the deportation came with the bicentenary in 1955. Events were held in both New Brunswick and Nova Scotia, but the most innovative were in Moncton, indicating some changes in the Acadians' willingness to express themselves in public.
