Tourouvre: Maison de l'Émigration française au Canada
On the 400th anniversary of the founding of Acadie, the Canadian government made a significant investment in a number of projects in France. One of them was the Maison de l'Émigration française au Canada, which was constructed in Tourouvre, in the Perche region to the west of Paris. The town had a close connection with emigration to the St Lawrence valley, which seemed at odds with the anniversary of Acadie.
